Currently, our Project Management and Construction (PMC) division has a Section Manager, Supply Chain opportunity.   PMC is a division of Project and Field Services responsible for the safe execution of modifications to the plant - on time, on budget, and of the highest quality.​ The Commercial Support team provides all commercial & procurement related support to achieve these goals. Starting from Procurement/Construction Estimate Build-Up to Project Close-out.

The Section Manager, Supply Chain leads the procurement of products and services, overseeing strategic sourcing, contracts management, supplier performance, logistics, and inventory. The role includes supervising staff, managing supplier agreements, evaluating proposals, and ensuring compliance with technical and commercial standards. It also involves driving supply chain improvements, managing warehousing and investment recovery, and providing confidential updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight

  • Promote a strong Nuclear Safety Culture through actions and communication.
  • Supervise staff performance, development, and qualifications.
  • Coordinate daily operations and cross-functional activities.
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Act in leadership roles during supervisor absences.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead procurement activities including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier development.
  • Manage supplier performance, improvement plans, and capability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with technical, commercial, and delivery standards.
  • Optimize inventory levels and manage requisitioning processes.

Contracts & Commercial Strategy

  • Oversee contract development, proposal evaluations, and award processes.
  • Manage contract changes, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide updates to executive leadership and external stakeholders as required.

Logistics & Inventory

  • Direct warehousing, logistics improvements, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Manage the Investment Recovery Program to optimize asset utilization.
  • Ensure accurate Bill of Materials (BoM) and inventory analysis.

Functional Area Responsibilities

  • Implement supplier strategies and close capability gaps.
  • Evaluate supplier facilities, QA programs, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Resolve technical and commercial issues with suppliers.
  • Participate in industry and professional associations.

PMC Contracts Administration (Specific)

  • Lead contract strategy, negotiations, and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain contract records and ensure compliance with Bruce Power standards.
  • Support project managers and senior leadership in contract execution.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of business operations, organization, functions, operating policies and procedures, regulations, and license requirements.
  • Requires experience with supervising staff.
  • Experience working in an industrial equipment plant to be familiar with the fabrication, assembly, testing and installation practices in order to assess capabilities of supply base.
  • Experience with purchasing products and services required for the operation of an electrical power utility, and the administration of large contracts including scheduling, expediting and negotiating changes, adjustments and warranty.
  • Commercial experience working with complex aspects of contracts, contract law, business administration. Knowledge of the supply base, the commodity, and influencing market conditions to ensure the success of the strategic approach.
  • Experience reading and interpreting specifications, production planning and scheduling, quality control, designing, and correcting and maintain supplier performance.
  • Excellent organization, planning, time management and project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines with grace under pressure. Ability to communicate verbally to effectively direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization. Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the completion of a 4 year university degree in a technical, business or related field or by having an equivalent level of education.
  • A period of over 8 years, and up to and including 10 years of management experience in a relevant field is considered necessary to gain this experience.
