Position Description:

The Senior Manager of Human Resources is responsible for creating and maintaining strong relationships between employees and the organization, ensuring that employee concerns are addressed effectively, and crafting policies and procedures to guide Human Resources functions. Based out of the FlexGen headquarters in Durham, NC, this person will play a critical role in creating a positive work environment while serving as a strategic partner in preserving and improving positive employee relations within the organization. Reporting to the VP of HR, the HR Senior Manager is a trusted advisor to management and staff, who assists with Legal Compliance, immigration, performance management, offers direction, assistance, and knowledge in employee relations.


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes; including but not limited to management, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances 
  • Use surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues, to make recommendations on improvements
  • Create and enhance policy, compliance and handbook offerings 
  • Research and explain laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees 
  • Advise and train managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances; Develop further training as needed 
  • Represent FlexGen in meetings and negotiations with employees
  • Collaborate with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding, and with legal counsel in the preparation for and participation before and throughout negotiation with employees 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

 

Position Requirements:

  • 8-10 years' experience in employee relations, HR policy development, immigration, performance management, and conflict resolution, preferably within a large/global manufacturing organization
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field 
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
