The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is looking for a Bushing Design Engineer to join our Global Engineering Team, Vadodara. You will play a crucial role in the development and design of innovative products and systems that meet our customer needs and industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project specifications are met while adhering to industry standards and design best practices. Your expertise in engineering principles and practices will contribute to optimize designs for performance, functionality, and sustainability.
How you will make an impact:
The successful candidate will be part of an International Design and Engineering Team, heavily specialized in Power Transformers Bushing design, covering different countries.
Understanding manufacturing techniques used to manufacture the components at the Ludvika plant, including but not limited to metal casting (sand, permanent, and die), plastics thermoset and epoxy (poured, injected, cast), plastics injection molded, metal forming (cast, drawn, forged), porcelain (extruded or thrown).
Interact with our Global Technical Center in new developments and R&D Projects.
Problem-solving, process design, and product application.
Developing and implementing cost-out projects.
Ability to speak with and work together with technical teams in different parts of the world.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background:
Electrical/Mechanical engineer (B.E, B. Tech) with an understanding of electrical and power engineering theory.
5-8 years of experience with Bushing Design.
Experienced in ISO 9001, ISO 18001, and ISO 14001.
Deep hands-on experience with the construction techniques, configuration, and technology theory of finely graded OIP (Oil Impregnated Paper) condenser bushings.
Deep hands-on experience with the construction techniques, configuration, and technology theory of finely graded RIS (Resin Impregnated Synthetic) condenser bushings.
Deep understanding of materials including but not limited to porcelain, aluminium (both conductor grade and structural), brass, bronze, epoxy, glass, paper (other cellulose materials), and oils.
Experienced with the use of PTC products including Creo 4.0, Windchill PLM, and mechanical simulations.
Experience with Microsoft Office and tools.
