About the Opportunity:  

We are excited to announce that Acciona has been awarded a major wharf infrastructure project at Port Hedland for Pilbara Ports Authority. This marks the first stage in the development of the Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility and Logistics Hub (LCGF), a transformative multi-user facility designed to:

  • Enable the export of critical minerals.
  • Support the import of renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Facilitate the import/export of general cargo.
  • Accommodate the import of bulk liquids such as fuel and chemicals.

To help us deliver this project, we are now seeking a suitably experienced Quality Engineer onto the team to ensure that all quality and completion requirements are satisfied when transitioning finished works to the Client and Stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to work in Port Hedland on a FIFO basis on a two week on, one week off roster.

Key accountabilities for the position: 

  • Assist in set up and creation of documentation and systems for quality, safety, environmental,  
  • Support and provide technical assistance to our supervisors and superintendents
  • Lead client/contractor meetings  
  • Plan and design components of the job and use your technical skills to resolve design challenges  
  • Responsibilities and controls around financial & program management in line with project outcomes while managing project teams taking on leadership of cohorts  
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the team

Required Skills and Competencies

  • You will have a tertiary education in civil engineering, construction or something similar  
  • Ideally you will have extensive experience on site working on a range of marine focused works  
  • Ideally you will be able to manage and drive program as well as display a high level of competency around contracts/financial management & team leadership  
  • Well-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and clients
