We are now seeking a suitably experienced Project Accountant to join our commercial team onsite in Rockingham.

Job Description


East Rockingham Waste-to-Energy Plant is one of Australia's first waste-to-energy facility, transforming waste into renewable energy while supporting the circular economy. Diverting up to 460,000 tonnes of waste annually from landfill, the facility will generate 38 megawatts of baseload power-enough for over 50,000 households-while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to removing 85,000 cars from Perth's roads.

Position

To help us conclude the construction of this project we are now seeking a suitably experienced Project Accountant to join our commercial team onsite in Rockingham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for month-end close procedures for the Project
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports including detailed financial analysis of monthly results
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of project accounting and managing the financial aspects of project management
  • Accountable for the month-end project forecasting process: revenue, cost and cash flow forecasting
  • Maintenance of general ledger, balance sheet management and cost analysis, including identifying areas for cost reduction or optimisation, and implementing effective cost control measures
  • Responsible for the audit process including project audit requirements and supporting annual company audit as required

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree qualified in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years experience post graduation
  • Demonstrated experience in similar role in project financial operations, ideally within the construction or building industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Solid foundation in accounting discipline and advanced Excel skills
