Job Description

About the Role - We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Irrigator
to support the 2025 bean season in the NAPI Farmington area. This role focuses on
daily operation, maintenance, and reporting for a conventional pressure drip irrigation system used in row crop farmingThe irrigator will report directly to both the NAPI farm management and N-Drip's Chief Agronomist to ensure proper water delivery, system efficiency, and responsive troubleshooting throughout the season.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily field inspections of drip lines, valves, filters, and emitters
  • Monitor system pressure and identify any irregularities or component issues
  • Repair leaks, clear clogs, and replace damaged system parts as needed
  • Clean and maintain filter units and conduct flushing procedures
  • Log irrigation schedules, field conditions, and report anomalies
  • Communicate any malfunctions or irregular performance to both farm management and N-Drip's Chief Agronomist
  • Assist with seasonal system setup or shutdown as required
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area


Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of water flow, filtration, and pressure systems
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 40 lbs and walking long field rows
  • Reliable transportation to and from worksite daily (no transport provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Punctual, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable maintaining irrigation logs and reporting issues accurately


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with drip irrigation systems
  • Prior agricultural or fieldwork experience
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual (English/Navajo or Spanish) is a plus

Compensation & Schedule

  • SeasonalHourly Rate: $16/hour
  • Schedule: 5–6 days/week, 32–40 hours/week (may include weekends)
  • Seasonal Duration:
    June through August 2025 (potential for extension)
