About your role: 

The Consumer Propositions Manager (Future) will be responsible for creating and developing the propositions roadmap that delivers the consumer strategy reflecting growth across customer holdings, margin, market share and product holdings per customer.  The propositions will be created through a lens of differentiation versus competitors and be grounded in the execution of our purpose for a Greener, Fairer, Future for customers

You’ll be responsible for cross functional excellence with the Commercial Management teams and CVM to support the delivery of the consumer commercial KPI’s, including Unique Customers, Acquisition, Renewals / Retention, Gross Margin. Critical focus will be required to grow Smart customer holdings and  Product Holdings per Customers.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible and for defining the propositions plan which identifies what customer need we can solve, balanced against the products we can sell, working closely with the commercial team to validate profitability  
  • Roadmap - Develop and own the rolling 12-Month Proposition Roadmap, as well as a longer-term roadmap (up to 24 months), including collaboration with commercial and sales teams as well as key stakeholders in Business Support, Sales and Service, Field Ops and wider  Centrica network 
    • Accountable for the successful and on-time delivery of the Roadmap. 
    • Accountable for ongoing review of our in life proposition set, and taking any corrective action / improving / evolving our offering for consumers.
    • Own and develop (with their Commercial Segment Manager partner) segments within the overall  market & customer base where value creation can be achieved through the delivery of energy and integrated solution propositions
  • Responsible for defining the plan which identifies what customer need we can solve, balanced against the products we can sell, working closely with the commercial team to validate profitability  

  • Lead work to  develop a research strategy incorporating the CX and Marketing teams defining the need for both Qualitative and Quantitative work. Design input into understanding, evaluating & defining the proposition – whether that be primary research, or desk research.
  • Lead integrated bundling propositions strategy by taking a holistic, customer needs-based view to devise and deliver solutions that make life easier for the consumer and add value. This will be across both Energy and Solutions.  Responsible for delivering differentiated propositions that Bord Gáis Energy can credibly 'own'.
  • Collaborate to Win by building relationships, foster a culture of problem-solving, and collaborate widely to deliver winning propositions. Critical to this will be support of the change delivery teams and supporting 
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics, making data driven recommendations to optimize propositions. This incorporates definition of value propositions working with CX teams on customer journeys and marketing on key messaging
  • Tangibly Delivering Our Corporate Purpose - Understands that progressing towards our 2030 goals as a business, and delivering on a 'greener, fairer future' means that not all initiatives in the near-term can be about in-year payback, etc. - and is willing to fight to balance our short-term business needs, against delivering our long-term goals - which Propositions and Bundles will play a key role in.

Here's what we’re looking for: 

  • Problem solving skills and ability to translate into business requirements which support strategic goals and ensure balanced delivery across customer and commercial outcomes   
  • Good strategic thinker with the ability to understand market trends and customer needs and translate them into pragmatic workable deliverables.   
  • Pro-active and tenacious in ensuring lateral solutioning and cross functional understand of rationales for doing  
  • Part of - Consumer Commercial Leadership Team. 
  • Leadership Role – Accountable to devising, driving and delivering the 12-Month Rolling Roadmap, and driving near-term propositions (up to 2 years out). 
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate effectively within a constantly changing environment.  
  • Track record of successfully launching and managing products and propositions  
  • Ability to think strategically, to devise creative solutions, but also to problem-solve around obstacles to deliver a winning customer proposition.  
  • Strong strategic planning, problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • 5+ years commercial or marketing experience required, ideally with proposition development experience in a Service industry. 
  • Exposure to Tech/Product is desirable 
  • Strong commercial acumen & experience are required. 
  • Experience working in a Product or Pricing role would be beneficial. 
  • Project Management experience or qualifications would be beneficial. 
  • Educated to Degree level, ideally with a business / commercial focus.
