Operations Manager offshore Wind
Job Description
140 wind turbines, 25 kilometers off the coast near Noordwijk, will generate 1.5 gigawatts of electricity. Clean, safe energy that will help us achieve our goal: fossil-freedom in one generation.

What will you do?
The Operations Manager supports the Site Manager in directing and manning the safe delivery and performance of operations and maintenance on the site.
They support delivering the Site Manager’s KPIs related to safety, minor repairs and restarts, corrective maintenance and execution of scheduled planned service. And work towards consistently reducing the OPEX and RBA (Revenue based availability) losses and time spend on the turbines.
The Operations Manager is responsible for the offshore operation, incl. line management for groups of technicians and supervisors as well as leading the contractor workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong focus on and work towards a positive HS&E culture and act as a role model
- Accountable for and participate in morning brief, toolbox talks and performance meetings, when on shift.
- Performance management e.g., performance dialogue with the technicians and supervisors
- Participate in Emergency Response and incident management as directed by Site Manager
- Track the progress and keep site management informed of all O&M activities e.g., retrofits, inspections, service, jack-up etc.
- Accountable for directing vessel/helicopter and SOV movements to optimize time and reduce fuel consumption
- Line management and development of Technicians and Supervisors, this includes performance talks (start, mid and end year), disciplinary actions, approving hours/absence etc. and regular 1:1 dialogue
- Technician resource management and management of associated budget
- Manage improvement initiatives, ensuring owners are assigned and regular updates, focus and cross portfolio sharing is achieved, e.g., increasing productivity, people performance or safety.
- Responsible for executing the yearly plan at site. Make decision and mitigate plans to manage risk or unforeseen changes to the plan/schedule, this will be done together with O&M Site Coordinator and Planner Function
Location:
Your base is the ‘hub’ in the port of IJmuiden. There we monitor the entire wind farm of more than 200 km2 with a team of 30 technicians. The site office consists of office space, a jetty for the crew transport vessels and the warehouse with spare parts.
