Team Leader (Connections Services)

Salary, £44,000- £55, 000 per annum + benefits

In this pivotal role, you'll prioritise customer satisfaction and exceed expectations through effective leadership, mentoring, and coaching. You'll manage our Connections team, who are responsible for providing quotes and managing applications for customers regarding connections, disconnections, and service alterations on our network. In this leadership role, you will help to deliver outstanding customer service, ensure regulatory compliance, and support innovation and change management. Your commitment to staff development and proactive approach during exceptional events like storms will be key to our success.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead and mentor a team to deliver exceptional customer service, meeting our business goals.
  • Ensure regulatory commitments and compliance standards are met by maximising team output.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and agile department that encourages staff development.
  • Support change management and ongoing quality monitoring.
  • Ensure teams receive all relevant training to handle customer enquiries with first-class service.
  • Being proactive and flexible during exceptional events e.g., storms.
  • Manage HR processes like performance monitoring and absence management.

   

What you’ll bring 

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent planning and organising capabilities.
  • Effective leadership and motivational skills, with a flair for influencing and collaborating.
  • Excellent customer service skills; able to coach, train, and mentor staff in customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm, customer-focused, and act decisively in fast-changing circumstances.
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader/Manager, working in fast-paced environments.
  • Computer literacy, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Adaptability to new systems.
  • Flexible approach to working additional hours as part of emergency operations e.g., storms.
