The Environmental Specialist ensures all environmental policies and procedures are in compliance throughout the Spartanburg Assembly Plant. The Environmental Specialist will administer environmental and sustainability programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies, guidelines, and objectives.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support Defense’s environmental compliance programs related to, but not limited to: air permitting, record keeping and compliance, wastewater treatment, storm water management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, and community right to know reporting.
  • Interpret local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and develop plans, permits and standard operating procedures.
  • Complete required inspections to maintain compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Provide research for projects by collecting environmental data and providing project documentation.
  • Conduct internal audit programs and third-party vendor audits.
  • Support projects to reduce waste to landfill, energy, water, and hazardous waste.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve environmental related problems and needs to customers, agencies, and other affected groups within and outside of Oshkosh Defense.
  • Overall management of chemical and Safety Data Sheet inventories
  • Facilitate waste pickups and all waste reduction efforts.
  • Calculate monthly self-monitoring report for wastewater.
  • Co-lead the implementation of the facility Green Team
  • Other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HAZWOPER Certification, RCRA/DOT Certification

Pay Range:

$63,500.00 - $101,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
