Want to put your marketing skills to work for local climate action? As SVCE's Programs Marketing Fellow in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful climate resiliency & sustainability initiatives with Silicon Valley Clean Energy. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 1-2 days per week & 3-4 days remotely. This role will include some potential for evening and weekend outreach events.

This position requires the employee to be physically located in Sunnyvale, CA, at the time of hire. Only candidates currently residing within commuting istance of the location will be considered.

The role of the SVCE's Programs Marketing Fellow will consist of two main components: social media strategy (including content creation and graphic design), and marketing of 1-2 programs. This position will support marketing leads in reaching the target audience through multiple channels (organic social, paid ads, email, print, radio/digital audio, events, webinars/presentations) to increase participation and impact. There will be opportunities to join our Outreach Fellow for in-person outreach/marketing initiatives. The Programs Marketing Fellow supports the promotion of clean energy and electrification programs through marketing strategies. They will help increase customer engagement by developing social media campaigns, creating content such as reels and graphics, and supporting marketing strategies for business and home electrification incentives. They will also write blogs and assist with select events. This role offers hands-on experience in marketing, clean energy, and social media, while contributing to SVCE’s mission of reducing emissions and promoting renewable energy.

Projects you will be working on include:

• Social media content (video, live, graphics) and strategy.
• Marketing for Business Rebates Program.
• Marketing for our Home Upgrades electrification incentive programs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and coordinate unique social media campaigns in partnership with our Senior Marketing Specialist.
• Create content: Shoot reels, design creative content to post, engage with followers, and grow our key social media accounts.
• Learn how to run marketing campaigns for Business Rebates and Home Upgrades umbrellas building content and executing online ads, email marketing, audio ads, and promotion through other available channels to share about the incentives SVCE offers, the benefits of electrification, and connect with audiences at different stages of their journey (for specific programs).
• Write blogs, develop reports, and create presentations.
• Assist with the development of written (blogs, flyers) and graphics.
• Attend or present at events where SVCE is conducting marketing and/or outreach activities. 
• Gain knowledge of community choice energy providers and of the energy industry as a whole. 

What We’re Looking For

• Understanding and passion for social media, trends, and ideally have recently managed or currently manage accounts for their own presence or organization, or a company’s presence, showing their creativity and strong metrics.
• Exceptional writing skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Graphic or web design, e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, and/or video editing skills using platforms like CapCut/InShot/YouCut.
• Data analytics experience, e.g., Google Analytics.
• Survey or focus group planning, or platform knowledge.
• Ability to work well with our team, as well as independently.
• Passion to help build our brand.
• Knowledge of Santa Clara County and its communities.
• Bilingual in one of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese.
• Applicants must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 
• A college degree is preferred but not required.
• The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis (onsite work 1-2 days per week & 3-4 days remotely). This role will include some potential for evening and weekend outreach events.
• Coursework or related experience in environmental fields (e.g., internships, volunteer work) is preferred.

• Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
• May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.
