Background

Teledyne Labs  is a leading US manufacturer and supplier of Chromatography purification instruments and consumables.  The primary markets for these products include chemical and pharmaceutical, discovery and development, labs as well as research groups working in other forms of purification including Biomolecules & Natural Products.  In addition we manufacture, and supply, high pressure precision fluid delivery systems which are used in a number of niche areas including Oil exploration research (core flooding), high pressure chemistry and catalysis and delivery of Supercritical fluids

Job Role Summary

Reporting to the EMEA Sales Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the sales of Teledyne ISCO products across the middle of the UK. The role involves the promotion, demonstration and sale of Teledyne Labs products, development of accounts & management of consumable supply.   

There is a key reporting requirement which includes the generation and updating of prospects/ opportunities (via a company CRM - Salesforce) and the planning of sales activities and promotions.  Additionally it will be necessary to work closely with the UK service currently supporting our products

This is a sales role where sales goals and budgets are expected to be managed and achieved.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sales / Supplier relationship

Direct sales of products in field, identifying new business opportunities

Day today selling including demonstrations, visits and presentations as well as supporting communication (phone/email etc)

Product training and installation

Limited product support, mainly focused on first line response to application and other issues. We have a contracted service organisation in the UK that support our instruments and an application lab in the US

Marketing

Identify, plan and participate in key exhibitions and conferences in across the middle of the UK

Investigate and identify other opportunities to promote the products in the UK market.

The Middle South of the UK has a good customer base but there is a lot of potential for growth

Updating and maintaining customer records in CRM (salesforce)

Requirements

Based in somewhere within the area between Leeds and Birmingham

Ideally have a chemistry background to degree level

Knowledge of Chromatography/Purification

sales experience is essential approx. 2-3 years

Planning and reporting

There is a requirement to produce monthly reports on ongoing activities as well as being involved in the development of strategy and sales plans for the longer term

It is also necessary to produce monthly sales opportunity (prospect) reports to forecast prospective UK business to the factory for the forthcoming period

Administration

Submission of weekly expense reports

Keeping track of demo and loan equipment and making sure it is fit for use

Conditions for employment
