THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT

As a Tactical Buyer, you will support the Strategic Buyer in driving procurement efficiency across vehicles and spare parts. Your focus will be on cash flow tracking (installment payments), supplier coordination, and helping implement strategic models like consignment inventory. You’ll act as a bridge between suppliers and internal teams (Supply Chain, Master Data, Finance), ensuring that key information is captured, clarified, and followed up—without owning the actual transactional or master data processes.

YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Financial Coordination
  • Track and follow up on installment payment schedules for vehicle and spare part purchases

  • Work with Finance to ensure timely approvals, flag risks or delays, and maintain visibility of upcoming cash commitments

  • Monitor credit usage with key suppliers and raise alerts to the Strategic Buyer

Supplier Interface & Support
  • Act as day-to-day operational interface with selected vehicle and component suppliers, especially Mandarin-speaking vendors

  • Clarify order timelines, documentation needs, and delivery planning (without placing POs)

  • Collect and organize technical and commercial data required for master data or contract updates

Process & Sourcing Support
  • Assist the Strategic Buyer in implementing consignment inventory models or VMI

  • Follow up with suppliers to align on consignment flow, stock balances, and reporting requirements

  • Identify potential process frictions and suggest improvements to streamline sourcing workflows

Data & Documentation Flow
  • Coordinate with the Master Data team to ensure required inputs (SKUs, specs, supplier info) are collected and submitted

Organize and store supplier documents, contracts, and communication in the correct shared systems

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • 2–4 years experience in procurement operations, finance coordination, or supplier support roles

  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for financial timelines and documentation quality

  • Comfortable interfacing with Chinese and international suppliers

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)

  • Familiarity with ERP environments and procurement processes (does not require ERP admin rights)

  • Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in fast-moving, cross-functional teams
