Role Purpose
This a varied operational role that involves driving Wood Mackenzie’s operational sales processes, with a particular focus on management of sales opportunities.
Once the role holder has developed an understanding of our quote to cash process, underpinned by Salesforce, they will support our sales team to ensure that opportunities are successfully turned into orders and processed in a timely manner. As such it requires the role holder to build up an extensive knowledge of Wood Mackenzie’s Sales Operations processes and have a real desire to drive and embed improvements to deliver quality outcomes.
This will involve developing and maintaining deep internal relationships across Operations, Sales, Legal and Finance areas in particular, as part of a cross functional effort that ensures an efficient flow of sales deals.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure and maintain an efficient flow of sales deals through operational processes, driving opportunity data management controls, processes, and data quality
- Support our Sales Team in the construction and processing of opportunities. This will require in-depth knowledge of business complexities and the optimal way to cater for these in the Salesforce process, including understanding downstream impacts to Finance, Legal and other functions
- Lead on daily operational support to the Sales, Finance, Legal, Contracts, Entitlement teams as required (processes, enhancements, efficiencies)
- Act as an ambassador in the embedding and reinforcement of quote to cash best practices within our Sales function
- Key SME relating to opportunity processing and related areas
- Develop a detailed understanding of upstream and downstream process across Sales Operations and partners in the Salesforce Team, Finance, Legal and Contracts to drive effective processing
- Over time develop the knowledge to lead the Sales Operations Team in the definition, delivery and improvement of core sales processes and related systems (Salesforce etc)
- Analyse process pain points, and work with management to develop long-term solutions
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Finance, Legal, Marketing, wider Sales Operations in support of wider business processes, projects and activities
- Attention to data quality and proactively seeks process optimization
- Regularly review and maintain key documentation regarding our policies, sales processes, and requirements
About You
- Salesforce exposure / experience in an operations role
- Experience within an operations environment (processes, systems use and improvement, commercial data). Note: Building up a detailed knowledge of Sales Operations processes is key in delivering the right outcomes across the role.
- Previous experience of providing and driving best-practice operational support
- Ability to partner with demanding stakeholders and deliver time critical work, including clear management of expectations
- Able to self-prioritize and manage work with rigor to high standards
- Able to follow process and produce quality deliverables independently
