Project Manager: Site Development

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to join the Site Development team of a leading renewable energy project developer in Cape Town. This role will play a key part in managing environmental, land and permitting activities throughout the project life-cycle - from early-stage development through to financial close, construction and operations.

The role will work closely with landowners, environmental consultants, government authorities, and legal advisors to ensure the successful development of projects across Southern Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct initial site screenings, constraints analysis, and feasibility assessments
• Manage environmental authorisation and related permitting processes
• Secure all required land and environmental consents, approvals, and authorisations
• Ensure full legal compliance with environmental and related regulations
• Conduct due diligence for environmental and permitting aspects during project acquisitions and financial close
• Support bid preparation processes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners
• Engage and manage communication with key external stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal technical and project development teams on layouts and designs
• Stay current with environmental legislation relevant to renewable energy development
• In time, take full ownership of the environmental and land workstream within the project lifecycle
