Job Description
Based at Seven Hills, you will be a key Finance partner for your Segment/s within Pact's Industrial packaging division providing a financial lens to the formulation and delivery of the Segment plans and overall Divisional strategy. You will provide clear insight into the performance drivers and operations of the Segment, identify risk and opportunities, and bring a healthy balance of challenge and partnership to your business leaders, including General Managers (GMs) and the Divisional Executive General Manager (EGM).
You are a trusted commercial advisor and the primary interface between your Divisional/Segment team, group Finance and the technical Finance Centres of Excellence.
You provide the context and the Divisional perspective that brings to life recurring Finance activities such as planning, budgeting and forecasting. You provide key support in commercial negotiations, business analysis and development of insights, projects and M&A activities.
You are a strong leader in the Finance community, striving for the development and application of best practice and effective, efficient interfaces between the various Finance functions. Main Accountabilities:
- Safety - Displaying an unrelenting focus on improving our safety culture. Your behavioural leadership is genuine and highly visible.
- P/L and Balance Sheet – accountable for the Division/Segment P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Business partnering – partner your respective Division/Segment leaders to enable sound decision making through analysis, experience and collaboration, leveraging the specialist Centres of Excellence teams as an enabler.
- Leverage the broader Finance technical and group functions – you are accountable for connecting your Division/Segment and its leaders to the technical/centralised Finance teams (FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, Tax, Treasury and Shared Services) to ensure your divisional context is understood, the cyclical Finance activities are delivered effectively and consistently in line with group-wide standards and policies.
- Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting – Provide a financial lens on planning for Pact's Industrial Division, providing data, insights and challenge. Support leaders through the budget process, defining financial and commercial requirements for strategic projects and investments.
- Cash and capital - Participate in setting Working Capital targets and monitor Segment/Divisional performance, incl risks and opportunities. Support the preparation of the Divisional CAPEX plan, including one-off business cases.
- Projects and M&A activity – strategic partner to the Segment/Divisional leaders on key commercial negotiations including major contracts, product and service development and M&A activity, in conjunction with the group Finance and group strategy teams.
- Business analysis and insight – Perform key analysis of profitability and business opportunities across areas such as customers, products, /services, /pricing, /assets, utilisation and labour productivity. Perform recurring and ad-hoc analysis and drive methodology and tools to create insights for the Division.
- Controls and compliance - Ensure that appropriate internal controls are implemented and adhered to throughout the Division and comply with Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance. Support a culture of transparency and good governance.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated previous experience in a 24/7 manufacturing/production environment
- Previous experience in leading and motivating a team in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in trouble shooting, problem solving, influencing and conflict resolution
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
