The Opportunity: 
Catalyze is seeking a Senior Asset Management Data Analyst to lead the development and optimization of scalable data systems and analytics strategies that drive operational and financial performance across our renewable energy asset portfolio. This strategic role focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights, streamlining operational reporting, enhancing financial modeling, and championing automation initiatives to support cross-functional stakeholders.
This role plays a key part in building and maintaining our centralized data infrastructure (Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, etc.) and supporting executive-level dashboards and reporting. You will also serve as a liaison between Asset Management, Finance, and Development teams to ensure high-quality decision-making through accurate performance monitoring and data-driven insights.

  • Technically skilled in leveraging tools to create interactive dashboards and data models, and proficient in Python coding for data analysis, automation, and workflow optimization
  • A self-starter proactively identifies work to be done and effectively prioritizes projects and action plans—while staying adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You will:

  • Strategic Data Analytics & Reporting
  • · Develop robust tools and processes to assess, verify, and enhance financial models using real-time operational data.
    · Analyze costs and revenue performance to support project-level profitability and identify optimization opportunities.
    · Lead design, development, and management of complex Power BI dashboards and data models.
    · Manage and improve ETL pipelines, ensuring integrity, governance, and quality of data across platforms.

  • Asset Management & Operational Support
  • · Serve as the primary data steward for operational platforms: AlsoEnergy, Aderis, Indie, Qcells, NetSuite, REng, and custom internal tools.
    · Design and optimize the platform to support efficient day-to-day monitoring, ticketing, and troubleshooting across the asset portfolio.
    · Collaborate with Asset Managers to ensure contract compliance and optimize asset yield.
    · Prepare internal (weekly/monthly) and external (monthly/quarterly/annual) reports for investors and executives.
    - Refine and re-forecast economic models using dynamic inputs from operational performance data.
    · Collaborate with Project Finance and Accounting teams to validate assumptions, track financial outcomes, and support strategic initiatives.
    · Interface with vendors, utilities, and third parties for data exchange and transaction support

  • Platform & Pipeline Development
  • · Support the architecture and development of an advanced analytics pipeline using Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
    · Commission DAS platforms and develop integrations via API with enterprise systems (e.g., Azure).
    · Build systems that track and manage asset metadata from construction through operations.
     
  • Innovation & Predictive Analytics
  • · Lead the buildout of predictive maintenance systems and performance anomaly detection.
    · Develop streamlined workflows to reduce manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics or related field
  • 4 + years of similar work experience; 2+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and data visualization tools.
  • Hands-on experience running large data sets in SQL, PowerBI, and Excel
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Smartsheet, and monitoring platforms like AlsoEnergy
  • Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, and workflow optimization, specifically using APIs/Databases and data analytics libraries
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to organize and present ideas in a concise, credible, and professional manner to various stakeholder groups
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines with precision.
  • Knowledge of solar, storage, or energy markets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
