We are now looking for a results-oriented Specialist that wants to work in the pigment coating technology at Stora Enso Innovation, Research and Development. The Innovation, Research and Development drive and support the product and process development needs of Stora Enso’s business areas. Your location can be at the research centers in Finland or Sweden, part time working from remote can be an option. You will report to the Vice President of Coating and Converting Technology.
The Coating and Converting Technology Team acts as a center of excellence and is a diverse and multi-disciplinary team belonging to Stora Enso Innovation, Research and Development. The position offers a good opportunity to further develop your skills and network while working in the fiber-based packaging development frontier.
As a Specialist Coatings your responsibilities will include:
Innovation and IPR - Generate, develop and drive ideas for new products in line with the Business Areas innovation strategy. Set direction in the competence area and scope the ideas. Generate and report inventions according to innovation guidelines.
Projects - You will design, lead, execute, and report on projects and project activities in the pigment coating and adjacent technology areas, with input from customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Monitor Technology - Follow and screen relevant technology, academic and commercial. Act on topics relevant for Stora Enso to engage in.
External R&D - Actively participate as representative from Stora Enso in the steering of external R&D projects. Ensure that external R&D is coordinated and transferred to stakeholders.
Communication - Report work according to guidelines and present internal and external. Be an expert at supplier and customer meetings. Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in pigment coating technology. Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required. Proven success in supplier/customer-driven development projects and managing coating-related R&D initiatives.
Tasks
Lead and manage projects from lab to full-scale production in pigment coatings and related tech. Responsible for delivering results within scope, budget, and timeline. Contribute to technical knowledge development and support product and process optimization across the value chain. Some travel required.
