Position: AI & Mechatronics Lead – Biomass Logistics Optimization (Full-Time or Advisory Role)
Location: Hybrid / Remote with travel to Northern Thailand
Start Date: Flexible (soonest preferred)
Compensation: Equity and/or salary negotiable | Open to project-based or advisory structure
Enable Earth is a climate-tech startup based in Thailand, building Southeast Asia’s one of the first industrial-scale biochar carbon removal project, addressing the environmental and public health crisis caused by open agricultural burning—starting with corn residue on steep terrains. By converting biomass into biochar and generating high-quality carbon removal credits, we turn waste into climate solutions.
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on AI & Mechatronics Lead (or Advisor) to co-develop a system that integrates Geospatial AI with field robotics or semi-automated machinery to optimize biomass collection on steep and fragmented farmland.
This role involves both software (AI/ML and remote sensing) and hardware (automation, robotics, mechanical design) development, and is ideal for someone excited to build real-world climate solutions for underserved, complex environments.
AI/ML & Software Development
Design and develop a geospatial decision support tool for biomass logistics using ML and optimization techniques
Integrate remote sensing (e.g., satellite/LiDAR), terrain elevation models, road networks, and crop cycles
Apply reinforcement learning, route optimization, or hybrid AI algorithms to minimize cost, time, and manual labor
Prototype and validate real-time route planning under rural, mountainous constraints
Hardware & Field Automation
Co-design modular, low-cost equipment for shredding, lifting, or transporting biomass on steep terrains
Evaluate options for semi-automated field tools (e.g., winch-based carriers, electric carts, or tracked crawlers)
Integrate sensors or IoT components with the AI route planner for real-time adaptation
Support design for durability, energy efficiency, and affordability in rugged field conditions
Bonus
Passion for designing solutions for real-world, low-infrastructure environments
Previous experience in carbon removal, agritech, or logistics optimization
Familiarity with sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or community-based design
A chance to co-create and scale one of the first climate-tech hardware/software solutions tailored for Southeast Asia’s steep terrains
Flexibility in role structure (full-time, part-time, or advisory)
A mission-driven team deeply rooted in impact, equity, and community
Visa and work permit support to Thailand (if needed)
Negotiable compensation/remuneration
