Enphase is introducing a new technology called Ensemble which allows seamless operation of energy resources such as inverters, storage systems, and loads to operate in a microgrid environment whether connected to a grid or not. This technology allows us to meet predefined Quality of Service specification and Economic objectives.
 
Reporting to the Principal Engineer of Reliability and Director of Reliability, the successful candidate in this key role at Enphase will move the organization toward efficient, scalable and predictable Reliability methods while retaining true flexibility in a highly innovative environment.
Develop detailed understanding of product design and implement reliability testing plans to qualify products 
within program schedules.
What You Will Do
  •  Facilitate the efficient collection of test data, interpret the same, and provide understandable reports on the test outcomes
  •  Analyzing field data and correlating test results to field performance
  •  Analyzing / troubleshooting failures on identified systems and driving issues to closure with preventive measures.
  •  Build product verification test setups for Enphase Home Energy Management products (Microinverters, IQ System Controller, IQ Batteries, and IQ gateway) (electromechanical)
  •  Develop innovative methods to identify critical failure modes and prevent/fix prior to new product launches
  •  Apply expertise to optimize the complete solar system solution to ensure life performance to the warranty
  •  Work with 3rd party CM’s, and Quality department to ensure ongoing compliance with reliability specifications utilizing an ORT program
  •  Build test setups for demonstrating long term reliability of new products
  •  Set up and maintain Windows PCs
  •  Troubleshoot and correct test setup and equipment issues
  •  Remove failing units under test (UUT) to facilitate timely failure analysis (FA)
  •  Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and lab
  •  Provide regular updates to management
Who You Are and What You Bring
  • Degree in engineering field preferred (EE)
  • 1+ years reliability-focused product development experience; 1+ years solar-industry experience
  • Excellent written and presentation skills to write papers, make presentation, and communicate to executives or committees.
  • Strong understanding of materials, mechanical, and electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with developing and executing product/process qualification test plans and aging experiments including HALT, HASS
  • Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and Design of Experiments
  • Proven ability to apply scientific problem-solving techniques with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Travel requirements may be up to 20%
Preferred Experience
  • Python, MySQL, C++/C# or other object-oriented programming language
  • Test automation experience, black/white box testing, hardware debugging/testing, hardware QA, Microinverter-Gateway-System Controller testing

The starting hourly rate for this position is $28.00. This hourly rate may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions.
