<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://dayenu.org">Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action</a> seeks a Jews of Color Caucus Organizer to help build a spiritually rooted, multigenerational, multi-racial Jewish climate movement. We are excited to open this new position to support our nascent Jews of Color Caucus established to support, foster, and grow a community of Jews of Color addressing the climate crisis.&nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic young organization that is mobilizing the American Jewish community to confront the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold political action.&nbsp;The person in this role will build and foster a community of Jews of Color who are working to address the immediate and long-term harm inflicted by the climate crisis, supporting their individual resilience, cultivating community and identifying and developing leaders and organizers to build our collective power.&nbsp;&nbsp;Location: Flexible; this role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the US Position Type: Part time, 15 hours/week&nbsp;Reporting Structure: The position reports to the Director of Campaigns &amp; Organizing&nbsp; To apply, go to: <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://d.aye.nu/apply￼The">d.aye.nu/apply The</a> deadline to apply is Monday May 26, 2025Responsibilities<ul><li>Build a robust community of Jews of Color to take action on the climate crisis through fellowship, campaigns, programs, and community learning.&nbsp;</li><li>Build and maintain relationships with individuals in the caucus.&nbsp;</li><li>Offer training to individuals and the group to be organizers and leaders.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide opportunities for caucus members to take impactful climate action and offer spiritual resourcing to caucus members to confront climate anxiety and grief and practice active hope.</li><li>Work with the Director of Campaigns &amp; Organizing&nbsp; and caucus members to develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for the caucus.&nbsp;</li><li>Host regular virtual gatherings (as often as one per month) for the caucus, and potential in-person gatherings organized with caucus members.&nbsp;</li><li>Promote the caucus externally and grow the size of the group, including actively recruiting people to join via phone call, text, social media, email, personal outreach, and outreach via partners.</li><li>Meet regularly with Dayenu staff to coordinate and share information so that the JOC Caucus work is well integrated into our full organization, including campaigns, organizing, communications, and digital work.&nbsp;</li><li>Build relationships with other professionals who are organizing similar communities within and outside of the Jewish community. </li></ul>We know that community-building work and work with caucuses or affinity groups can often be informal, done apart from a paid job, or be one part of paid work. Generally speaking, strong candidates will have 2 or more years of experience with the following qualifications, and we recognize this work in all its forms.&nbsp; Qualifications:<ul><li>Demonstrated ability to build and foster a new community.</li><li>Organizing experience, including creating and executing a strategic plan, recruiting, and sharing a compelling vision.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to both foster individual relationships and actively develop people into organizers and leaders, including formal and informal training, mentorship, and holding people accountable.&nbsp;</li><li>Significant experience working with Jews of Color communities, including but not limited to&nbsp; Black, Indigenous, Latinx Jews, Ethiopian, Sephardic, and Mizrahi Jews.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience holding and navigating a diverse community around lines of difference.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience organizing a caucus space preferred (professional or otherwise).</li><li>Experience working to address the climate crisis and knowledge of Jewish communal spaces preferred (professional or otherwise).&nbsp;</li><li>Our ideal candidate will have flexibility to attend some of our regular staff meetings that happen during the traditional workday, as well as regular evening and weekend meetings and events for the caucus.&nbsp; </li></ul>CompensationThe pay for this position is $30/hour. Jews of Color Caucus Organizer

<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://dayenu.org">Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action</a> seeks a State Organizer &amp; Campaigner to help build a spiritually rooted, multigenerational, multi-racial Jewish climate movement in New York.&nbsp;Grassroots leadership is the engine that drives our strategic campaign work to confront the climate crisis. This role will&nbsp; design and run a statewide or local campaign, and directly organize, train, and manage Dayenu activists and leaders primarily&nbsp; in&nbsp; New York, developing individuals as organizers as well as supporting and establishing Dayenu Circles, our chapter-based organizing model. The person in this role will also support Dayenu’s work nationally and in other key states. Location: New York state required Reporting Structure: The position reports to the Director of Campaigns &amp; OrganizingResponsibilities:Organizing<ul><li>Grow our grassroots presence in New York&nbsp; and other assigned states - recruiting new leaders, supporting their organizing structures, and engaging people in our campaign and movement-building work at various levels&nbsp;</li><li>Develop Dayenu leaders into strategic organizers through regular 1:1s, formal and informal trainings, political education, coaching, feedback, and active management&nbsp;</li><li>Build a multi-generational movement, with focused&nbsp; work to engage young people (20s-32) and Jews of Color in our organizing&nbsp;</li><li>Provide education and coaching to Dayenu Circles and other Dayenu grassroots&nbsp; leaders around climate policy and actionPriority State Campaign Work in New York<ul><li>Manage Dayenu state campaigns, responsible for shaping day-to-day workflow and delivering on overall campaign objectives</li><li>Design the goals, strategies, tactics, and timeline for state campaigns in coordination with Circle leaders and Dayenu staff</li><li>Lead and coordinate project teams made up of staff from Dayenu’s campaigns, organizing, communications, and spiritual adaptation departments to ensure that work is aligned and advances shared objectives</li><li>Develop and implement management systems to ensure that all campaign activity remains on track</li><li>Track and assess campaign opportunities, and support development of new campaigns and initiatives that advance Dayenu’s mission</li><li>Work with Director of Campaigns &amp; Organizing on campaign selection and&nbsp; prioritization</li></ul>Engagement with External Partners&nbsp;<ul><li>Engage key allies, partners, and other external stakeholders within Jewish, multi-faith, and secular organizations and movements, including frontline communities and activists in the climate justice and broader progressive movements in New York</li><li>Represent Dayenu in state and local coalitions to explore collaboration and coordinate advocacy initiatives and campaign activities</li><li>Present, speak, and share Dayenu’s vision and work to a variety of audiences</li></ul></li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and organizers through training, delegation, feedback, and active management.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong ability to make and implement organizing plans, including crafting recruitment plans, delegating, and teaching leadership skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to design and manage a campaign, including working with others to establish goals, strategy, tactics, and timeline, and supporting peers and leaders in executing that work.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience organizing people through the ladder of engagement - including building a list, outreach through calls, emails, texts, and in-person visits, 1:1s, making asks, and supporting them in growth.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering strategic and high quality work with integrity and good judgment.</li><li>Ability to foster collaborative relationships with partner organizations.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Passionate about Dayenu’s mission and committed to growing a Jewish climate movement.</li><li>Ability to communicate proactively, clearly, and in a compelling way both with colleagues and the communities we’re organizing.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>A track record of working effectively with people across lines of difference and a demonstrated commitment to <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://nmaahc.si.edu/learn/talking-about-race/topics/being-antiracist">anti-racist practice</a>.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; ability to travel regularly to conduct site visits, lead in-person trainings, and attend conferences and retreats.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience working in/with the Jewish community strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience working to address the climate crisis, including climate and environmental justice movements, preferred.&nbsp;</li></ul>
